01 - Bring 2 cups of water to a boil in a kettle or small saucepan.
02 - Pour boiling water over black tea bags or loose tea in a teapot or heatproof jug. Let steep for 3 to 4 minutes, then remove tea bags or strain leaves.
03 - Stir in freshly squeezed lemon juice and honey (or maple syrup) until fully dissolved.
04 - Taste and adjust sweetness or acidity by adding extra lemon juice or sweetener if desired.
05 - Pour tea into cups and garnish with a lemon slice or fresh mint leaves as preferred. Serve hot.
